This week was a week of milestones.
On Friday at Rhythm Ace Studios, we finished off the last of the lead vocals for my new EP 'In the World'. We have worked really hard over the last couple of weeks to meet the deadline of finishing recording by the end of August. Graeme (sound engineer) was in fine form doing James Brown impersonations, with Sam (sound engineer/studio owner/barister) being the gracious host that he is, making incredible coffee and herbal teas to keep us all going for the 5 hour session. I also was able to play and record on the Wurlizter (electric piano) for the first time and absolutely loved the experience. And to top it off, Saturday was my birthday, and I was so blessed to have so many lovely friends and family celebrate with me. I felt incredible love and support from everyone, and it is amazing to have made beautiful new friends through the video/recording process. Yesterday Juliet McLean and I drove to Waganui for a gig at the Space Art Gallery, which was a beautiful ending to a very emotional week. I was touched by the folks that came out to listen to our original music, and also by the incredibly hardworking organisers Carla Donson & Sarah. I will back in the studio again this evening and can't wait for the session!
